What you can expect

Core Responsibilities

• Direct and support other workers in a variety of repair and maintenance tasks
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
• Complete jobs and tasks based on work orders, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Organize and maintain maintenance requests, preventive maintenance schedules, and work orders
• Properly use and care for maintenance equipment and tools
• Provide reasonably accurate estimates of required supplies and materials
• Practice safe work habits and follow lockout/tagout procedures at all times
• Ensure proper operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
• Troubleshoot equipment using diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications
• Identify sources of equipment problems by observing operation, listening for irregularities, and using precision measuring and testing instruments
• Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
• Inspect parts and determine dimensional changes using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
• Minimize downtime by communicating equipment status and repair completion to production
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools, instruments, and equipment
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories by monitoring stock levels and identifying spare parts
• Use maintenance resources effectively to achieve job results
• Maintain continuity among work teams through clear communication and documentation
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations

Technical Responsibilities

• Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical/electronic components in accordance with electrical codes and lockout/tagout procedures
• Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment
• Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment
• Replace faulty electrical components
• Diagnose, repair, or replace faulty electronic components
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
• Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and drawings
• Learn and understand PLC controllers and process instrumentation
• Support preventive maintenance and repair activities across production equipment and related systems
